Humorous Pregnancy Must Reads

Last year I was pregnant for the third time (baby arrived in Dec 2011). I was excited to finally get my girl but the pregnancy was tiring because I was running around with two very active boys. I am a stay at home mom and needed something to help me get through the pregnancy – it was a tough one! I discovered some very fun and humorous pregnancy books that took the edge off. I did not need pregnancy or baby advice anymore, I just needed something to keep me motivated. These light reads took the weight off!

1. Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth About Pregnancy and Childbirth by Jenny McCarthy – Jenny’s hilarious tales from her pregnancy. She explores the topics that people are too embarrassed to talk about.

2. What to Expect When you are Expected by David Javerbaum – A mockery of the book “What to Expect When You Are Expecting.” Written from the perspective of an unborn child and explores the biology of pregnancy, breastfeeding techniques and paternity tests.

3. The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine – This guide gets your through your pregnancy but in a hilarious manner.

4. Bear with Me: What They Don’t Tell You About Pregnancy and New Motherhood by Diane Flacks-Toronto comedy writer/performer writes about her pregnancy and the first few months with her newborn. Diane Flacks is very open about her experiences so be prepared for a candid and honest book.
