Moby Wrap

The Moby Wrap is a sling type carrier that allows for many different positions of baby wearing including carrying two babies at once. The wrapping technique is designed to distribute weight evenly so you do not feel any pressure or pain in your shoulders or back. It can hold anywhere from newborns up to toddlers (max weight 35 lbs). It does take time to learn how to use the Moby Wrap so there is a significant learning curve but once you get used to it then it becomes second nature. In addition, because of all the fabric needed it can be hot to use in warmer months. Basically the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of breathable and stretchy cotton fabric that is wrapped around differently, based on how you want to wear your baby. Each Moby Wrap comes with an instruction booklet but there are also online tutorials to learn how to tie it.

A few negatives:

  • When in public and trying to tie on the wrap the fabric ends drag on the ground (because it is so long) and gets dirty (although it is machine washable).
  • It takes about 1 minute to tie on (when you know what you are doing) which can seem like an eternity if you have a fussy baby.
Overall the Moby Wrap is rated one of the best baby carriers because of  the versatility and comfort provided to baby.
