Lifefactory Glass Baby Bottle Review

Lifefactory is one of the first companies to make reusable glass baby bottles. Glass baby bottles have a small share of the market because many parents fear the use of glass with a baby. Made of borosilicate glass, the Lifefactory bottle can withstand extreme temperatures of boiling hot and freezing cold. Also being BPA, Phthalate, PVC, polycarbonate, lead and latex free, the bottles are completely safe for baby. Lifefactory eliminated the glass-fear by making a silicone sleeve that fits the baby bottles perfectly. The silicone sleeve offers a no-slip grip and provides the bottle with protection to prevent bottle breakage. The nipple and sleeve are made from medical grade silicone and are durable enough to be placed in the dishwasher. For the 4 oz and 9 oz bottles, choose from 9 fun colored sleeves.

I like the idea of glass baby bottles but I worry about glass with my kids. My son’s threw their bottles as babies and my 2 1/2 year old still throws his sippy cup so I am not sure I would feel comfortable giving him a glass anything at this point. I would just be scared of the glass breaking in their use and then a hand getting cut or something to that effect. I know the silicone sleeve is highly protective but the parent in me still worries.

The price point of the bottles ($15 for the 4 oz and $17 for the 9 oz) is higher than most plastic baby bottles which can be a source of contention but you can justify it by the safety of glass.

Lifefactory also makes sippy cups for toddlers and water bottles for adults so all members of the family can partake in their reusable, safe glass bottles.
