Exederm Baby Skin Care Line

My children have sensitive skin so I am very cautious about the products I use on their skin. I make sure the lotions, soaps and shampoos that I buy for them are as natural as can be. Many products for babies and children are labeled as Sensitive, Mild or Hypoallergenic but are actually not good enough for babies or children with eczema. Most of these products are for your “average” kid.

Thanks to exederms PR Godfrey Sandars, I had the opportunity to sample the exederm cleansing baby wash and exederm intensive baby moisturizer. “Exederm has been specially formulated to avoid harsh chemicals, unnecessary additives and unproven herbal ingredients that may irritate and cause a rash on sensitive skin or trigger an eczema flare-up on your child’s skin.” The National Eczema Association has even given exederm’s children’s skin care products its “Seal of Acceptance” award for their ultra-sensitive formulations. This is a huge honor to exederm because it really means exederm has developed products that are truly safe, do not contain any skin irritants and are beneficial for sensitive skin.

Product Features:

  • No Fragrances
  • No Lanolins
  • No Prabens – Praben-type preservatives are commonly used in the skin-care industry but NOT in exederm because the preservatice is too harsh
  • No Propylene Glycol
  • No Colors or Dyes
  • No SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) – standard in body wash and bubble bath but a high skin irritant
  • No CAPB (Cacomidopropyl Betaine) – 2004 Allergen of the Year but unfortunately still being used in other skin-care products
  • No Phthalates

The intensive baby moisturizer is thick but does not leave a greasy residue. I like that the skin absorbs it well and when you put it on your skin feels instantly softer (yes I tried it on myself too!).  A little goes a long way. The 4 oz moisturizer sells for $14.99.

The baby bath is not foamy and does not make a lot of bubbles or soap suds but it works well. I love having a body soap that will not irritate my kid’s all ready sensitive skin. The 8 oz baby bath retails for $12.99.

While the exederm products are not cheap, they are well worth the investment for the difference it will make on your baby’s skin. Not only do they carry a line of baby products but they also make products for adults too (we all can benefit from their great formulas).
