Sh*tty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us

Disclosure: I have received “Sh*tty Mom” to facilitate my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Shitty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us, written by 4 moms, Laurie Kilmartin, Karen Moline, Alicia Ybarbo and Mary Ann Zoellner is a New York Times Bestselling parenting guide. Humor that most parents can relate to, Sh*tty Mom is “about shortcuts and parenting with 40% effort, but doing it well enough so that no one but you notices.” This book is about doing what you have to do as parents but being less than perfect without anyone realizing. Published in September 2012, each chapter offers a common parenting dilemma with advice on how to get through the dilemma in the easiest way possible. With chapters such as “How to Sleep Until 9 A.M. Every Weekend,” “How to Drop Off Your Sick Kid At Daycare Before the Teacher Figures It Out,” and “How Not To Hear the Baby In The Middle of the Night” you will find humerous a way to get through those issues we face as parents.

I really enjoyed Sh*tty Mom. Practical advice or not, it definitely makes you look at those parenting issues with a little less stress and a little more light. I highly recommend this book for all those stressed out and tired parents! Why not give it a chance and give yourself a break! This is the anti Tiger Mom manifesto because lets face it, we all can’t be the “perfect Pinterest mom“!
