Dapple – Natural Cleaners for Homes with Kids

Disclosure: I have received dapple products  to facilitate my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

With all the information out there about harmful chemicals in cleaning products, I only try to buy green products in my house. Lucky for me, I was recently introduced to dapple, “a line of products that were natural and safe for our babies, but also specifically targeted to clean the unique messes they leave behind.” Invented by 2 moms, dapple, “use natural-based ingredients that are environmentally-safe, biodegradable, and free of parabens, SLES, and phthalates, as well as synthetic dyes or fragrances.”

Dapple was kind enough to send me their Baby Laundry Detergent and Baby Bottle & Dish Liquid for review.

  • Fragrence Free Baby Laundry Detergent – hypoallergenic, perfect for babies and children with eczema, cleans up baby messes and spit-up, works well on cloth diapers, does not contain color brighteners or fabric softeners, great with high-efficiency (HE) and non HE machines, made with ultra-mild ingredients
  • Lavender-scented Baby Bottle & Dish Liquid – safe for all baby products (bottles, breast pump parts, pacifiers etc…), features award-winning green technology to target milk residue and baking soda to combat odor, made with all-natural ingredients, free of phthalates, parabens, SLS, SLES, and dyes

What I love about dapple is the fact that they are all-natural and hypoallergenic for sensitive skin. The laundry detergent worked well…my gauge is if it takes out food spills from my daughter’s clothes then it is great. I have tried other green detergents that did not clean the clothes very well. As for the Dish Liquid, I loved the lavender aroma…how could you not? I noticed that the Dish Detergent was not as sudsy as other dish liquids due to the sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). The lack of bubbles (due to SLS) does not mean it does not clean well, it just means that the soap is safer! The Dish Liquid does not clean grease which means that it may not work as well on your cooking pots and pans but its purpose is for baby products which it works wonders!

Dapple makes a few other cleaning products besides the ones mentioned. My only gripe about dapple is the price of their products. The 50 oz Laundry Detergent is $8.99 and the Dish Liquid is $5.99 for 16.9 oz. While dapple is not cheap, it is definitely worth buying for the green, baby-safe cleaning products that are even safer than leading baby products (ex other leading baby detergents are made with petroleum-based synthetic ingredients while dapple is not!)
