Skip Hop Via Messenger Diaper Bag

The Skip Hop Via Messenger Bag is a popular bag with urban dwellers. It is smaller than your standard diaper bag, which can be a deterrent for people who need space for storage in their diaper bag. It is big enough for the essentials plus a few more smaller items but that is about it. While it looks sleek, functional and great for mom and definitely dad it does have the issue of size.

A few issues with the Skip Hop Via Messenger Bag is due to its size, if all the pockets are utilized in the interior then it is difficult to close the bag. The multitude of pockets is awesome for keeping organized but if your spouse or babysitter or grandparent uses the bag they may have a tough time finding what they need. The other problem is the shape the narrow and deep shape causes items to get lost and the bottom of the bag and then difficult to find unless you remove the contents of the bag. Another complaint is that the bag edges fray and the interior lining can rip easily – not a great look for such a nice bag to begin with.

If you have twins or 2 young children then forget it! If you carry the essential items (bottles, wipes, diapers, nursing cover, toys, change of clothes, blanket) the bag can get bulky, lose its shape and then not close. I say its a no unless you want a small bag and are ok if the bag starts to look worn over time. In my opinion, the $80 for the Via is not worth it!
