Joovy Caboose Stand-on Tandem Double Stroller

Disclosure: I have received the Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Double Stroller to facilitate to my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

I never thought I was a fan of double strollers where one child sits and the other one stands (or sits on a platform) behind. I thought they are impractical/uncomfortable/bulky, that is until I had to opportunity to review the Joovy Caboose Stand-on Tandem Double Stroller. I was super excited to review the Joovy Caboose Double Stroller because I was ready to get rid of my other bulkier double stroller but still wanted a double to keep around for those long days out and about. The minute I saw it, after my husband put it together (easily and quickly I might add) I was impressed for so many reasons.

  • Front seat min age 6 months unless using a car seat with the car seat adapter
  • Max weight front or back 45 lbs
  • Large canopy for front seat
  • Reclining front seat also has storage pockets on the back
  • Removable child tray
  • Car seat adapter included
  • Underneath storage basket
  • Front swivel wheels can lock
  • Rear wheel brakes are separate
  • 5 point harness on front seat and 3 point harness on rear seat
  • 2 handed flat fold
  • Footrest for front seat is adjustable
  • Stroller weight – 26 lbs
  • 9 fabric colors (I chose black since it does not show food stains as much)

Despite all the perks to the Joovy Caboose Double, there are some downsides that were a little disappointing. When the front seat is reclined, it is difficult for a child to sit in the rear, they must stand. Second, The storage basket underneath is difficult to access. It is still functional and has side pockets for slide in smaller items but the large basket is just a little hard to get to. The last issue I have is that it is not as smooth pushing and strolling because of the smaller plastic wheels. It is not hard but I am used to the big jogging stroller wheels which do wonders for a heavier double stroller.

On the other hand, what I really appreciate about the stroller is that its not super heavy. I did not have a problem carrying it or picking it up to open or close. It is a little large but you can’t expect anything different when you have a double stroller.  I also think that the included accessories (car seat adapter, snack tray) is huge because many other companies sell the accessories separately which then hike up the cost of the stroller.

My boys loved the option to stand on the stroller, they get a free ride and its fun to stand in the back (we were able to squeeze both of my skinny boys int he back together). I honestly love that the Joovy Caboose Stand-on Tandem Double Stroller is a safe, sturdy, fun stroller for kids and parents. Only $149 for a durable double stroller is a steal. For an additional $70, you can purchase the Caboose Too Rear Seat to make the rear seat a seat instead of just a platform.
