Backstage at Disney On Ice: Passport to Adventure

Last week I had the fortuity to attend an early Bloggers Event for Disney on Ice: Passport to Adventure at the SAP Center in San Jose. We had the opportunity to meet a few of the performers in the show and we also got to watch other performers practice/warm up before the evening show. One guy I spoke with said he had only been ice skating for 6 years. He tried ice skating on a whim in England when he was 14 years old and loved it. After that he started taking lessons once a week. The amazing part is that and on his own he would analyze ice skaters on video (YouTube etc) to learn technique and improve his ice skating skill. I was blown away that he had only been ice skating for 6 years and learned much of his talent on his own. Beyond the skaters, we also had the chance to meet Mickey Mouse. We even took a picture with “Mouse” as my daughter calls him.

The early Bloggers Event was amazing but what was even more amazing was watching the show. It was a mind blowing show with visits to the Pride Lands from The Lion King, an under the seat voyage from The Little Mermaid, a tour of London and NeverLand from Peter Pan and finally a visit to sun-baked Hawaii from Lilo and Stitch.

As with all Disney on Ice shows, Passport to Adventure truly was an adventure not to be missed. My boys were mesmerized the entire show, enjoying the music, characters and following the stories. If the show is coming to a city near you, do not miss seeing this one of a kind adventure.

For our SF Bay Area readers, Disney on Ice: Rockin’ Ever After will be here in February and March 2014. Tickets are on sale now, don’t miss the next one!
