Loni Jane – November 5, 2013

Most of us recognize that extreme or radical diets while pregnant is not a good idea. Why intentionally endanger your baby and yourself. Twenty-five year old Australian Designer Loni Jane Anthony thinks differently, 3 years ago she adopted US Dr. Douglas Graham’s 80/10/10 Diet and has maintained it during pregnancy. Three years ago Loni Jane realized she had gained weight, developed skin infections and acne as a result of her partying lifestyle and unhealthy eating. After a lot of research and trying other diets plans she found the 80/10/10 Diet.

The 80/10/10 Diet is a raw foods diet which consists of 80% carbohydrates, 10% protein and 10% fat. Instead of the 80% carbohydrates being starchy foods, Dr. Douglas Graham’s diet focuses on fruits. In this diet, 1 meal could be 3 lbs of cantaloupe, basically a meal of a single fruit in large quantities. He also suggests people following this diet eat 1 lb of leafy vegetables a day (lettuce, spinach, celery etc…) and high fat foods (avocado, nuts etc…) in a small quantity every other day. Dr. Douglas Graham also suggest that dieters should engage in aerobic exercise daily and strength training at least 3 times a week.

Loni Jane Anthony has been  adhering to the 80/10/10 diet even while 6 1/2 months pregnant with her first baby. I will be honest Loni Jane looks amazing but it is kind of scary that she is trying to grow a healthy baby under that diet. Want to see more pictures and read more about Loni Jane, check out her Instagram Page, she has almost 100,000 followers. Something about  her is fascinating, not sure if its shock or awe or jealously. All I know is that I could and would never follow an extreme diet pregnant or not!
