NuRoo Nursing Scarf Review

I am long over nursing (stopped a little over 1 year ago), but after nursing 3 children, I remember the inconvenience of nursing in public. Covering up with those flimsy nursing covers was always a challenge. Most of the time, my back was half exposed from lifting my shirt up (if I did not wear a nursing shirt, which I never did) and I was cold or just showing off my body that was not in stellar shape. Those days of nursing in public are such vivid memories so I can appreciate when a better nursing cover comes out in the baby market. The NuRoo Nursing Scarf is one of the bets nursing covers that I have seen in a while. I am so excited to share it with you because of how innovative it is. The kind people at NuRoo sent me a gray Nursing Scarf for review. I tried on in all the different configurations and was amazed by its versatility.

  • Made with the signature NüRoo® fabric (90% polyseter, 10 spandex) that’s lightweight, breathable, wrinkle-free
  • Snaps on the width allows for customized coverage +discrete nursing -
  • 4 colors – navy, gray, purple, gray/ivory stripe
  • Machine wash and tumble dry

A few things about the scarf before I talk about how to wear it. I got the gray scarf which is the perfect neutral color for my wardrobe. It basically matches with everything! The signature NuRoo fabric is so soft that it will not scratch or bother you or baby. It even has a little stretch in it. If you are worried about getting too hot in the summer then just take it off but you can also wear it as a shrug over a tank top for minimal coverage but keeping it accessible.

As for the scarf usage, it is amazing! One size fits all, the NuRoo is large enough for most women. I had such an easy time trying the NuRoo on in all the different configurations. What I love is that the NuRoo can be worn even when you are not nursing and it does not scream “breastfeeding mom.” Of course you can pack it away when not in use but why not wear it so its always handy for a nursing session. The  great thing is that you can wear the NuRoo in so many different ways and still nurse with coverage. Finally, as an added benefit, the NuRoo Scarf is also large enough to be used as a blanket for your baby. Or wear it “vest” style or any other way while baby wearing.

The one thing about the NuRoo is that I wish it came in more colors. A black or neutral color would be great because those go with almost anything. That is my only complaint about this genius product. I wish I had it when I was nursing, it would have saved me from so many close-call moments (accidental exposure) or back exposure.

The NuRoo retails for $29.99 and is available at Toys R Us or other smaller shops.
