LeapFrog’s LeapTV – One of the “Hottest Toys of the Season”


LeapFrog is at it again with their coming soon LeapTV. Still on their kick to motivate kids to get up and move, LeapFrog will be releasing their LeapTV in mid-October, just in time for the holidays. LeapTV is a gaming console that differs from the ones out their because it aims to promote education (reading, math, science and problem solving) and physical activity (basically a Wii for kids). Meant for children ages 3-8 years old, LeapTV will have more than 100 games and videos available for purchase at their launch. The games will be sold as cartridges ($29.99) or downloads ($5 and up).┬áLeapTV┬áprovides players three ways to play – motion control, pointer play and a classic controller mode. Using the included camera, players are placed right in the TV so they see themselves in action. LeapTV is made for young kids with the audio instructions for non-readers, simple interface, motion-sensing camera and an ergonomically designed controller for smaller hands.
