BabyFirstTV for your 6 Month Old


The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) does not recommend TV or any screen time for children under the age of 2.  The reason is because a child’s brain develops rapidly during the first few years and young children learn best by interacting with people and books.

I agree with the AAP suggestion so I was surprised to learn about BabyFirstTVBabyFirst is a media company that produces and distributes content for babies through television, the internet and mobile apps. The content is intended to develop a baby’s skills, such as color recognition, counting and vocabulary. Aimed at babies as young as 6 months, BabyFirstTV is primarily animation shows that are mostly visual and very little dialogue.

BabyFirst is growing as they are starting to cut deals with pay-TV distributors. Reaching over 50 million households, I guess a lot of people are okay with their babies watching TV. I guess its very clean and safe, but still…
