BookRoo’s Favorite Books

Do you have an avid reader in your house? I do! We end up at the library weekly (if not more often than that). The problem with library books is that they just disappear in the house. We inevitably end up with a fine which annoys my husband so much.

The way to get around library fines is via bookroo. Bookroo is children’s subscription book service founded by 3 brothers and their wives.

How it works:

1. Choose board books or picture books. Each box contains either 3 board books or 2 picture books and the combined retail value of the books always exceeds the subscription price!

2. Choose a 1-month ($19.99), 3-month ($55.99 or $18.66/month) or 6-month service ($104.99 or $17.50/month)

3. Get your monthly box in the mail

The team at bookroo was kind enough to put together a list of their favorite board and picture books. I wanted to share this list with you because it contains books that are beyond the ones that we all know (Sandra Boynton, Brown Bear etc…).

Board Books:

Moustache Up! A Playful Game of Opposites by Kimberly Ainsworth, illustrated by Daniel Roode.

You Are My Baby series by Lorena Siminovich.

Vehicles by Xavier Deneux

A Book of Sleep by Il Sung Na

The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen

Picture Books:

You are Special by Max Lucado

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood

The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig by Eugene Trivizas

Harry and Horsie by Katie van Camp, illustrated by Lincoln Agnew

Rumpelstiltskin’s Daughter by Diane Stanley

Just for the parents who love to read, here is a list of favorite books by the bookroo founders (I need to get started on these books):

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

The Spymistress by Jennifer Chiaverini

Beauty by Robin McKinley
