Graco Recalls 1.9 Million Infant Car Seats (in addition to the 4 million recalled this year)

Earlier this year, Graco issued a huge recall of over 4 million car seats due to seat buckles getting stuck. Today Graco expanded the recall to include 1.9 million infant car seats manufactured between July 2010 and May 2013.

Another Car Seat Recall


In March Graco went through a mass recall of car seats due to a buckle issue. As of April 3, Evenflo recalled 1.3 million car seats due to a similar issue as Graco. According to Evenflo, “…select models use a harness crotch buckle which may become resistant to unlatching over time, due to exposure to various contaminants (like food and drinks) that are present in everyday use of the convertible car seat or harnessed booster by toddlers.

Graco Recalls 403,000 more car seats!!


In mid-February, Graco recalled 3.8 million car seats due to buckles getting stuck if liquids or juices harden in them. Well today Graco has expanded the recall to include an additional 403,000 car seats. These additional car seats have the same buckle so they can also get stuck by food and drinks, making it difficult to remove children in case of an emergency. In some cases, parents have had to cut harnesses to get their children out of the car seat.

3.8 Million Graco Car Seats Recalled due to Harness Problems

Today, Graco voluntary recalled 3.7 million Toddler Car Seat and Harness Booster Seats that were manufactured from 2009 through July 2013. Through urging by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and product testing, Graco found that liquids and food that dry out on the harness can cause the buckles to become more difficult to open over time or just get stuck.

1.25 million Playtex Pacifier Holder Clips Recalled


Today, Playtex recalled 1.25 million Pacifier Holder Clips in the US and 150,000 in Canada. These holders clip a pacifier onto a pacifierholder_outshirt, bag, bib, anything so the pacifier does not fall. There has been 99 reported cases of the holders cracking or breaking.

Motrin Infants’ Drops Recall by Johnson & Johnson


Today Johnson & Johnson issued a recall for 200,000 bottles of Infant Motrin due to a risk that they may contain tiny particles of plastic (may be contaminated with specs of PTFE, a plastic also used in Teflon coating).

Huge Carter’s Recall

218,000 Carter’s one-piece footed sleepers have been recalled today (April 11, 2013) because the zipper pull can detach, posing a choking hazard to children. No injuries have been reported!

Target Children’s Pajama Recall

The CPSC in conjunction with Target has issued a voluntary recall of 560,000 two piece pajamas. “The children’s cotton or cotton/fleece pajamas sets fail to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, because they do not meet the tight-fitting sizing requirements. This poses a burn hazard to children.” No injuries have been reported but who wants to take a risk.

The Latest Recall – Fisher Price Newborn Rock ‘n Play Sleeperâ„¢

The latest recall by the CPSC and Fisher Price is the Newborn Rock ‘n Play Sleeperâ„¢. There has been 600 reported cases of mold developing between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet/moist or is infrequently cleaned.
